I met a man!
I bet that caught your attention. Oh..goodness, seriously? While converting one of the children’s room into a work studio, I needed a certain kind of work table that would fit in a closet. I did everything one should not do which was meet with a man by myself that I met on Craig’s list. The dimensions of the table fit, and by this time, I have learned to measure twice, cut once.
The man, Jordan is his name, said he built the tables for extra money and had one that was the perfect size so I met up with him to see the work table/desk and to determine if fit within the closet. Of course, we started talking and I asked him about his life. He was 26 years old and just newly married but this next statement is what brought me to tears once I got in my car. We talked about Jesus Christ of course. He told me a few years earlier his life was spinning out of control and the whole time his grandmother prayed for him daily. She prayed that he would know he was loved, forgiven and that no matter how bad things got, he could turn to Christ and prayed that God would turn this grandchild’s life around. He began to make changes over the next few years then met his wife, a wonderful godly young woman and they married. He attributes his life changing and becoming a Christian because of the prayers of his grandmother.
I am not saying that glory goes to the grandmother but to the Lord, however, she inspired me because of her grandson, to continue faithfully to pray for mine.
This is the right legacy of a grandparent. It motivated and inspired me to continue to pray for my grandchildren, the born and the unborn and that not one single prayer is wasted. I am glad I met that man.
